Grounds Anderson, LLC has prepared Flood Plain Fill Mitigation Plans, “No-Rise” Certifications, and Conveyance Analyses in support of development in and around Special Flood Hazard Areas in the City of Houston, Harris County, the City of Pasadena, League City, and the Memorial Villages. We have successfully worked with individual homeowners and large scale subdivisions in creating mitigation plans that keep the development and the public reasonable safe from flooding. Our plans are integral to the land plans to allow for shared facilities with detention ponds, recreational facilities, and green space.
We utilize the latest in technology such as GIS, LiDAR, and remotely sensed data to provide accurate and cost effective plans.
We are exceedingly familiar with regulations for development in flood plains and have assisted local communities in developing ordinances and review National Flood Insurance Program participating communities across the State of Texas. This allows us to minimize review time to obtain permits and get the project under construction.

Residential Mitigation Plans
Residential development within Special Flood Hazard Areas requires the preparation of a Flood Plain Fill Mitigation Plan, Conveyance Mitigation, and a “No-Rise” Certification. Proposed structures in or near a flood plain must maintain the ability to move and store floodwaters. We have prepared analyses, studies, computer models, and construction documents to allow development to occur while keeping the residents reasonably safe from flooding. We have assisted architects and developers acquire a development permit for houses in the City of Houston, Harris County, the City of Bellaire, West University Place, and the Memorial Villages.

Brookhollow Conceptual Detention Analysis & Floodplain Mitigation
Grounds Anderson determined the required detention pond volumes for six Reserves of Brookhollow West within White Oak Bayou (E100-00-00) Watershed. The pond volumes will serve as detention and mitigation areas. All reserves were inundated by the Base Flood Event and are mapped within Special Flood Hazard Areas Zones AE & AO. We also determined the flood plain fill mitigation volumes required to develop the sites on fill. Site layouts were provided for each reserve to maximize building space and allow for on-site detention ponds.
